This week MediaTek announced the launch of its new high-end chip for smartphones, the Dimensity 9400. The model has a broad focus on artificial intelligence and has a cutting-edge manufacturing process designed at the 3 nanometer level.

The company’s new flagship developed by TSMC works in the 1 + 3 + 4 format and the maximum core of the project is 3.63 GHz Cortex-X925. The other three colors are processed by 3.63 GHz Cortex-X4. in addition to the remaining four low-performance 2.4GHz Cortex-A720s.

According to the company, the new Dimensity can offer a 400 MHz higher clock speed compared to the Dimensity 9300, as well as a 15% increase in IPC (Instructions Per Cycle). Regarding cache levels, the company’s latest model offers 12 MB of L3 cache, while its predecessor had only 8 MB.

The most powerful GPU in Ray Tracing

Moving on to the testing side, MediaTek states that Dimensity 9400 offers 35% additional performance in single-threaded operations, while multi-core performance increases by 28%. Thanks to its artificial intelligence-focused NPU (Neural Processing Unit), the chip can run models 80% faster and consume 35% less energy.

On the integrated graphics side, the new SoC has 12-core Immortalis-G925. According to the manufacturer, the model offers 40% higher performance and 44% energy efficiency in Ray Tracing applications.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is expected to be included in smartphones like Oppo Find X8 and Vivo X200 soon.
