Word has a sorting tool to sort data in different ways. You can sort by dates, names or even entire paragraphs in a few clicks. With this feature, you can save yourself a lot of time and effort. That’s how you sort properly in Word.

Simple word list
Select the list in the Word document as follows. It doesn’t matter if the list is simply one under the other or if it’s a bulleted list. Click for the first word of the list, press shift and hold. Click at the end of the last word and let shift off again. The selected list is now highlighted.
Go to tab to put the list in alphabetical order Start. Click on the icon there To sortA button with a combination of the letters AZ and an arrow. If it’s a simple dictionary, you’re down To sort Options paragraphs and Text chosen. you click growing and then OK.
Sorting options
Another example: We have a list of names that start with each person’s name. We want to sort it by last name, of course, not first name. After clicking the Sort button, first Options to specify how sort fields are allocated. on duty Separate the fields by: choose option Others.

Different criteria
