By 2024, Russian IT companies will have increased their employee skill requirements due to rising salaries and increased workloads. This follows from the results of a survey conducted by ITQuick and Zarplaty.ru, which Forbes reviewed.

According to the study, demands for specialists in cybersecurity (64%), artificial intelligence and machine learning (37%), data analysis (32%) and cloud technologies (31%) have especially increased.

Companies are also actively implementing tools based on neural networks: 48% use OpenAI Codex and other systems to automate programming, and 44% use tools for A/B testing. Industrial engineering skills are becoming a major employment advantage, with 13% of companies requiring them, the survey shows.

As companies noted, amid tightening requirements in certain areas, salaries increased, especially for cybersecurity (63%) and artificial intelligence (59%) specialists. However, as wages increase, so does workload.

IT companies are investing more actively in training: 65% have increased their employee development budgets and 48% plan to increase spending on training in AI, cloud technologies and cybersecurity in 2025. However, Employers are facing a shortage of qualified personnel: 37% of respondents say there is a shortage of specialists and 44% report difficulties recruiting employees for remote work.

1.2 thousand heads of development departments, projects, CEOs and technology directors from the largest cities in Russia took part in the survey by ITQuick and Zarplata.ru.
