The minimum discount for transactions involving the sale of assets by foreigners in Russia has increased from 50% to 60%. This is reported by TASS in reference to the Russian Minister of Finance, Anton Siluanov.

The Minister also noted that the contribution to the budget for transactions involving the sale of Russian companies by foreigners will increase from 15% to 35%. It will first increase from 15 to 25% and then increase annually by 5%.

RBC sources reported an increase in the minimum discount a week earlier. In addition, according to them, the authorities have introduced a new rule for such transactions: if their value exceeds 50 billion rubles, they can only be carried out with the consent of the President of Russia.

In early October, Unilever sold its Russian business to domestic manufacturer Arnest for €520 million. Arnest produces antiperspirants, air fresheners, cleaning products and detergents in its facilities.
