Scientists from University College London have created a large 6G test network, with data transfer speeds reaching 938 Gbps.
That’s nearly 5,000 times faster than 5G at the required speed of 200 Mbps, which is what 5G delivers on average.
To achieve this result, scientists used a combination of radio waves in the widest range of frequencies from 5 to 150 GHz. In particular, from 5 to 75 GHz they used high-speed digital-to-analog converters, and higher frequencies were reduced using light radio generators.
Scientists are currently conducting research with smartphone manufacturers and network providers. They believe that their technology could form the basis of the future 6G standard. [Tom’s Hardware]
