Roskomnadzor said there is no reason yet to unblock the Discord messenger. Although users notice that pages with the discord.com domain name have disappeared from the banned sites registry, access to the platform remains limited. This is due to violation of the requirements of Russian legislation for those regulating the dissemination of information.
Ministry representatives explained that the restrictions were imposed due to non-compliance with rules aimed at preventing threats such as the use of the messenger for terrorist activities, the recruitment or sale of prohibited substances. Roskomnadzor said in a press release that there is no reason to lift the block at this time.
Roskomnadzor emphasizes that compliance with the law is the main condition for the platform to become available again in Russia. Removing the ban will not be considered until Discord meets the requirements.
