According to the representative of the service, cases of allergic reactions are not within the competence of the service.

“In this case there is no violation of epidemiological and sanitary rules,” Rospotrebnadzor explained to RB.RU.

On October 21, the Telegram channel “Shot Check” published a story from one of Dubai’s elite chocolate buyers about Quincke’s edema that allegedly occurred after consuming it. The victim provided a video showing that he was eating chocolate in packaging branded by the Moscow confectionery French Kiss, which sells bars through an online store at a price of about 1,500 rubles each. After the first bite, the woman felt itchy in her mouth, then choked, started coughing, and her eyelids swelled. A relative called an ambulance, doctors diagnosed Quincke’s edema in the woman, who was already swollen at that time, and gave her a life-saving injection.

According to the victim, the cause of the reaction was the pistachio paste in the dessert, which could cause an allergy.

The French Kiss candy store, whose branding can be seen in the victim’s video, responded to the incident. The company claims that all its products are certified.

“All raw materials for the products are purchased only from trusted suppliers and always undergo quality control. All information on the composition of the product is included on the label in accordance with the requirements of the Russian Federation. “French Kiss manufactures and sells products only under the French Kiss brand,” the company assured RB.RU.

The popularity of Dubai chocolate is growing in the Russian markets, but there are many complaints in the reviews. One of those who bought a bar for 4.5 thousand rubles complained that he began to feel very thirsty after eating it. Another shopper said she felt her stomach turn. Buyers suspected that not all Dubai chocolate supplied to Russia was “real.” Some packages, for example, lack information on manufacturers, composition and expiration dates.

Despite complaints, the popularity of Dubai chocolate in Russia is increasing. In October, analysts recorded an explosive growth from several dozen tiles to more than 4 thousand in the WB market alone. Experts from the online trade analysis service Anabar noted that demand exceeds supply and sellers have lost 1 million rubles in revenue due to a shortage of Dubai chocolate in warehouses, RB.RU wrote. The Moneyplace service has recorded an increase in prices for this type of chocolate. The average purchase invoice increased from 561 rubles (July-September period) to 2,175 rubles from October 17 to 20.

Roskachestvo has not yet been interested in such a phenomenon as “Dubai chocolate”; They believe that this product is poorly represented in Russia.

“At the moment there is no planned investigation into Dubai chocolate. In general, this type of chocolate could be classified as chocolate with filling, but since specifically the “Dubai” chocolate is poorly represented on the Russian market and Roskachestvo has not received requests to carry it out, such a study has not yet been presented for discussion.” he explained.
