Apple has sharply reduced production of Vision Pro, and may stop it completely by the end of the year, The Information reports.
The company has already notified Luxshare that it faces stopping production of Vision Pro plasma. But the helmet will not be on sale. Apple has enough stock of Vision Pro to support demand.
The assembly lines will not be removed either. This means that the device could be relaunched in the future if sales start to pick up.
Sources of the publication said that the production reduction occurred at the beginning of the year. The Luxshare factory now produces about 1,000 helmets a day, half of its production at its peak.
Apple suppliers have already found enough components for 500-600 thousand Vision Pro. Some factories limited the production of parts back in May. Now there are tens of thousands of unused components left in their warehouses.
It is also reported that Apple has stopped work on the second generation Vision Pro for at least a year in order to work on a cheaper version of the helmet.
