Tools available to researchers include a virtual environment (VRE) in macOS Sequoia 15.1 Developer Preview and a system security guide detailing the architecture and security controls. The company also published the PCC source code on GitHub.

For the discovery of critical vulnerabilities that could compromise confidentiality and data protection in PCC, Apple is offering a reward of between $50,000 and $1 million.

To join the study, you’ll need an Apple Silicon-based MacBook with at least 16GB of RAM and macOS Sequoia 15.1 Developer Preview.

Private Cloud Compute is a cloud-based system that runs complex computing queries for Apple Intelligence and provides industry-leading security and privacy protections by combining Apple device security standards with cloud technologies.
