Capital expenditures by Amazon, Microsoft, Meta* and Alphabet on developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in 2024 will reach an all-time high and amount to $200 billion, Bloomberg estimates.

Notably, Amazon will spend around $75 billion on AI in 2024; Analysts called these expenses “truly staggering.” Meta*’s capital spending could rise to $40 billion this year. Microsoft has already spent $14.9 billion on AI technology in the quarter, up 50% from last year. Alphabet also plans a significant increase in spending, the agency writes.

Spending on AI development will continue or increase in 2025, Bloomberg concluded.

In June, Meta* was in talks with Apple about integrating its artificial intelligence model into the Apple Intelligence model, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.

*Meta is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation.
