Ilya Kazakov, technical director of the MTS Urent Powerbank service, warned Russians about applications that can greatly drain the smartphone’s battery. According to him, users should know which applications “drain” the battery and how to deal with it.
Kazakov noted that social networks running in the background are constantly downloading content and sending notifications. It recommends turning off background updates and notifications to extend your device’s battery life. Battery-draining apps included navigation software that updated maps and traffic data, as well as short video apps that required constant downloading and processing.
The expert also pointed out popular video platforms, where watching streaming video, especially in high resolution, can significantly drain battery power. He recommends lowering the video quality and avoiding using your smartphone as a pocket television. Adding that video conferencing applications consume a lot of energy due to the active operation of the camera and microphone, Kazakov advised reducing the screen brightness and switching to sound mode if possible.
In addition, modern games that load processor and graphics also require significant energy consumption. Kazakov called on users to reduce screen brightness during games and monitor which applications consume battery. This will help preserve the battery for a long time and prevent unexpected shutdowns.
