Experts interviewed by Bloomberg believe that the head of Tesla and SpaceX is “extremely pro-China,” and Elon Musk’s views on “some of the most sensitive issues” in US-China relations coincide with the leader’s views. Chinese Xi Jinping.

For example, the businessman opposed US tariffs on Chinese electric cars, while Trump threatened to impose 60 percent tariffs on all products from China.

“I see Musk becoming a key liaison between the United States and China on many technology and trade issues in the second Trump administration,” said Interconnected Capital founder Kevin Xu.

In April 2024, Elon Musk traveled to China to obtain permission for Tesla’s self-driving system to enter the largest automobile market.

At the same time, Chinese authorities called Tesla’s development in the country “a successful example of Sino-American economic and trade cooperation,” and the businessman’s fortune showed the largest weekly increase in the last two years.

This week, Donald Trump said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that Elon Musk would have been given a “powerful position” in the administration if the Republican candidate wins the November 5 election.
