The project of the Vnezemnoye company to create an agricultural complex in the Sverdlovsk region is entering an active phase. It is planned to establish an innovative farm in Berezovsky that will be able to produce about 100 tons of strawberries per year by growing plants without soil using the aeroponic method. The project is supported by the regional Investment Promotion Agency. Construction could take up to two years, and the complex could focus on other fruits besides strawberries, such as raspberries and blueberries.
In its current phase, the project is launching a research laboratory to study ideal growing conditions. The regional government notes that changes have been made to the general plan of the Berezovsky District for the start of construction, which is planned to be completed in 2025-2026. Officials explain that the success of the project depends on urgent changes to the Land Use Rules and provision of resources.
The regional budget needs support to finance construction, which is estimated at 8.6 billion rubles. First Deputy Governor Alexey Shmykov informed the meeting about the need to withdraw federal loans on preferential terms.
