Ukrainian studio GSC Game World’s shooter STALKER 2, expected to be released on November 20, has been officially banned in Russia. This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Information Policy Committee, Anton Gorelkin, in an interview with the Daily Storm.

Gorelkin pointed to “donations from the developers to the Ukrainian Armed Forces” and possibly extremist content within the game.
“If illegal information is discovered in the game content after its publication, the most severe measures will be taken,” Gorelkin threatened.
The publication turned to lawyer Mikhail Mushailov, who warned that buyers of the game could be prosecuted if the developers support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“I would recommend changing your preferences in games so as not to change your preferences in places of stay,” the lawyer said.
GSC Game World announced the suspension of operations in Russia in 2022.
Previously Gorelkin reported that the operation of Google services may be at risk in Russia. Officially, the company left the Russian Federation in 2022, but it left servers in the country that began to degrade, the people’s representative reported. In addition, the company is complying with US sanctions to restrict access to certain services due to their possible use for military purposes.
