Despite the theme of the series dedicated to the rise of the iconic torrent tracker of the same name, pirated broadcasts turned out to be extremely rare. Swedish group OLLONBORRE was the first to upload the 1080p and 720p versions of the series to closed servers. However, the series has not yet been released on popular public pirate sites, including The Pirate Bay itself (at the time of this writing).
Although the series is based on real events, it deviates greatly from reality. It presents a “dramatized” version of The Pirate Bay story, blending reality and fiction. Director Jens Sjögren explained that the series’ creators changed timelines and characters for “dramatic effect” without involving the platform’s founders.
The purpose of the series was not to reproduce the facts, but to convey the “spirit of the mission” of the founders.
