Writer, a generative AI platform for enterprises, has raised $200 million at a $1.9 billion valuation. As a result of the new investment round, the total investment in the project amounted to $326 million, TechCrunch and Business Wire reported.

As of September 2023, the company’s valuation was more than $500 million. The funds Premji Invest, Radical Ventures, ICONIQ Growth, Salesforce Ventures, Adobe Ventures, IBM Ventures and others participated in the investment round. Two partners, Premji Invest and Radical Ventures, will join Writer’s board of directors.

The company will use the money raised to develop the platform, including creating artificial intelligence agents that will be able to perform tasks for users in the retail, healthcare and financial sectors.

Writer was founded in 2020 by entrepreneurs May Habib and Wasim Alshih. The company offers companies its own Palmyra generative neural networks, a service for creating AI applications AI Studio and tools for working with data. The writer’s clients include Mars, Ally Bank, Qualcomm, Salesforce, Uber, Accenture, L’Oreal and Intuit.
