A company associated with Oleg Boyko registered the Tesla trademark with the consent of Tesla Inc. Elon Musk

A year earlier, the company agreed to transfer the brand with Tesla Inc. Elon Musk. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, “land capital” may be associated with Oleg Boyko’s Finstar holding company.

The Tesla brand is registered for class 36 of the ICGS, we are talking about loans, insurance and financial services. Rospatent materials specifically note that no services should be associated “with energy storage systems or vehicles that use solely an electric motor as a power (propulsion) unit.” Tesla electric cars are produced by Elon Musk’s company.

The company attempted to register the Tesla trademark in Latin, but withdrew its application twice, Rospatent reports.

“Zemelny Capital” filed a lawsuit against Tesla Inc. in March 2022, demanding early termination of Elon Musk’s company’s rights to trademarks, including the Tesla brand, as well as its international logos due to their non-use in Russia under class 36 of the IKTU. Due to the protection of these marks, the financial company was denied registration of its brands “Tesla”, Teslacard, Teslapay and Tesla in the same ICGS class.

During the process, the parties signed a settlement agreement in October 2023, which was approved by the court. “Zemelny Capital” had the opportunity to register trademarks, but it was not clear from the documents whether it could obtain the Tesla trademark. In turn, the company undertook to withdraw all lawsuits in the event of early termination of the legal protection of the trademarks, as evident from the conciliation agreement.

In January 2024, Land Capital adopted the Teslaplay brand and added Tesla to it in November.

As Victoria Makarova, deputy director of the trademark department of the Online Patent company, explained to RB.RU, several trademarks “Tesla” and “Tesla” have been registered in Russia in different classes of the ICGS.

“On behalf of Tesla Inc. a trademark is registered under class 36 (number 590754) of the Latin alphabet, which gives you the exclusive right to use this trademark in the field of services covered by this class. “This means that the company’s mark “Land Capital” in Cyrillic should not prevent Tesla from operating in class 36 using a sign in the Latin alphabet,” Makarova said.

According to Makarova, if Tesla decides to return to the Russian market, it should not have problems with the Tesla brand.

The company belongs to the Cypriot offshore company Latapla Holdings. RB.RU studied data from the Kontur.Focus system, from which it follows that the Russian copyright holder of the Tesla brand may be associated with Oleg Boyko’s international financial holding Finstar (according to Forbes, the businessman’s fortune amounts to 1.2 billion dollars).
• Thus, the offshore company Latapla is the owner of LLC Content, of which businessman Oleg Boyko was mentioned as founder with a 51% stake in the period from 2018 to 2023, then his stake passed to the LLC. The offshore company is also listed as a co-owner of Warsaw-Service LLC, whose founders include Vladislav Dyulgerov, who in the past was also the owner of Jet Money MSC. Jet Money is currently owned by Finstar Holding LLC, of ​​which Oleg Boyko owns 99%. Kommersant names Boyko as a beneficiary of the Finstar holding company, owner of the Rive Gauche perfume chain, and Ritzio Entertainment, one of the founders of Evrazholding.
