DamProdam, a quick purchase service for equipment, has recorded a trend of growing interest among Russians in the iPhone 16 since the beginning of November 2024. The popularity of the new generation began in mid-October, and now the demand for the iPhone 16 has become stable throughout the world.

According to the service, over the past 3 weeks, the share of users wishing to exchange iPhone 15 for iPhone 16 through trade-in has increased by 27%. At the same time, the number of applications for selling used iPhone 15 for cash increased by 19%.

Interest in the iPhone 16 began to grow due to a reduction in prices for the device both in official and “gray” retail. For example, the cost of registration of an iPhone 16 model with a memory capacity of 128 GB in “gray” channels fell from 95 thousand rubles to 71 thousand rubles. Now the price difference between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 is only 7-10 thousand rubles, which makes buying a new product a more profitable decision.

There are other reasons:

1. Changes in the ruble to dollar exchange rate may affect the cost of the iPhone. For example, if the dollar rises in price to 100 rubles (and he already), iPhone 16 prices could rise by 10%

2. The introduction of mandatory labeling could complicate the supply of “gray” iPhones and increase their cost by at least 5%.

3. The Apple Intelligence feature is generating interest among users. The popularity of new models is especially growing among women 21–35 years old.

4. Traditionally, by the New Year, prices for Apple equipment in Russia rise by up to 20% due to increased popularity and reduced supply.

It is for these reasons that Russians are now rushing to buy new iPhone 16. This, in turn, increases activity in the trade-in market. [Газета.Ru]
