The Ozon marketplace business, one of the key blocks of the site’s work, was headed by the former head of the Pyaterochka retail chain, Sergey Goncharov, Ozon said in a statement.
Goncharov will be responsible for the development of all categories and business models in the marketplace, including vendor development and own sales.
Prior to his current appointment, Goncharov was director of strategy at X5 Group, then headed the Pyaterochka retail chain for about four years. Previously, he also managed the retail chain Magnit Cosmetic and served as Sony Corporation’s director of strategy and business development for eight years.
Sergey Pankov, who headed Ozon’s business function, decided to leave the company to “pursue new career opportunities,” Ozon said in a statement.
In addition to the market block, Ozon also has financial and logistics blocks, each of which has its own head.
