This season, Yandex’s kicksharing service has significantly expanded its geography, operating in six new cities. Currently, the total number of Yandex scooter fleet exceeds 65 thousand, which is 15% more than last year. Now not only scooters can be rented, but also bicycles, which can be rented through the Yandex Go application.
The demand for micromobility continues to increase. More than half of Yandex kicksharing users used a SIM for the first time this season, and the number of trips increased by 85% compared to 2023. An important indicator is the increased regularity of use: if a year ago there were 5 trips per day per Yandex scooter, now there are already 7 trips.
Scooter rides mostly take place during morning and evening rush hours. Average journey time is approximately 10 minutes. In Moscow, where bicycles are now available, they are more often used for longer routes, with travel times being 40% longer (17 minutes on average).
Yandex pays special attention to security. This season the service has installed license plates on all scooters, increased fines for serious violations and expanded its traffic rules education program. The company is also actively working with other operators to create additional cycle lanes. To further improve security, Yandex will invest more than 200 million rubles in the development of the industry in 2025, and since the launch of the service in 2022, 380 million rubles have been invested in security.
