Why did Coca-Cola decide to advertise only using AI?: European Marketing Director of the company, Javier Mezaexplained his decision in interview with Marketing Week magazinestating that Coca-Cola wanted to bring this year’s Christmas advert into “today’s times”.
“We didn’t start by saying, ‘Okay, we’re going to have to do this with AI,’” he said. “The brief was: we want to move the holiday into the present, and then “We see AI as a solution to this problem.”

“It’s actually very alarming that a big brand like Coca Cola would do this,” another X/Twitter user added. “Certainly They could afford to hire actors/designers/editors/etc.. do it.”
Others expressed similar concerns: “This is nonsense, bro. If a multi-billion dollar company like Coca Cola fails to pay real artists, actors, directors, etc. to promote your product, what precedent does this set for the rest of the market?” one person wrote in a YouTube video.
Coca-Cola’s excuse
Jason Zada, founder of one of the three AI studios with which Coca-Cola worked to create advertising, noted the effectiveness of using technology to create a spot.
