“Criminals send flowers or another gift to a person and a few days later ask for a “delivery confirmation code.” Upon receiving this data, fraudsters hack accounts in state services, withdraw money from bank cards and grant loans to the victim,” the message says.
In early November, Russian Post reported on a similar method of fraud. The company then claimed that the Russians were receiving calls supposedly on behalf of the postal operator requesting an SMS code “for registration or delivery.”
In October, Roskomnadzor reported that between January and August the regulator blocked 456 million fraudulent calls. The department noted that attackers often use gray SIM cards that are not registered to a specific owner.
