Model and blogger Kim Kardashian published a video of her interaction with Tesla’s Optimus robot on X, which is not yet available to the general public. At her request, the robot danced a Hawaiian dance, folded a heart and even played “rock, paper and scissors” with her.

After interacting with the robot, Kardashian and Optimus boarded the Cybercab, a two-seater autonomous vehicle that Elon Musk promised to launch in 2027. However, Musk himself admits that he is not always realistic in his forecasts: in 2019 he predicted that in a year there would be a million Tesla robotaxis driving on the roads. Almost five years have passed since then.
Tesla introduced the humanoid robot Optimus in 2022, and in December 2023 a new model appeared: Optimus Gen 2.
Techcrunch notes that during the We, Robot presentation in October of this year, the Optimus robots that greeted guests were not autonomous: they were controlled by people. It is quite possible that the communication between Kardashian and Optimus also involved the participation of human assistants.
Kardashian does not appear in video travel in a Cybercab, but describes the car as “crazy” and “crazy.” As TechCrunch points out, there’s no indication this is an ad in Kardashian’s post, but the blogger is a Tesla customer — he owns the Cybertruck.
