This trend is due to increasing supply and weak demand in the DRAM market.
The most significant decrease in prices will affect DDR4 and LPDDR4X modules, as suppliers’ stocks exceed current needs. Already at the end of 2024, the prices of these standards began to fall.
Prices for more modern DDR5 and LPDDR5X models may also drop due to uncertainty in demand and high inventories among buyers.
Previously, TrendForce predicted stability in DRAM prices due to manufacturers’ active investments in the development of HBM memory and the expected launch of new factories by 2026. However, recent changes in the market have forced analysts to revise their forecasts.
