Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorelkin, who previously announced a possible ban on STALKER 2 in Russia, said that he proposed to Russify the Ukrainian game and release it on VK Play. He published a post about this on Telegram.

“Many subscribers sent in their ideas on what to do with this game. There was even a proposal to clean it of possible extremism, make a Russian voice-over and sell it on VK Play and use the money raised for the needs of the Northern Military District,” the deputy noted.
He added that it would be better to implement this proposal after the “first patch”, with which the developers will fix the main bugs.
Gorelkin noted that in the game, which launched on November 20, “no Russophobic content has been found yet,” but “a lot of bugs have been discovered.” “Some sources even consider it completely unplayable,” he wrote.
Previously, the deputy said that STALKER 2 “has every chance of being officially banned in Russia,” noting that this is due not only to the fact that “the developers of the video game support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” “If after its publication illegal information is discovered in the game content (extremism, justification of terrorism, incitement to ethnic hatred, etc.), the most severe measures will be taken,” Gorelkin promised.
The press service of Roskomnadzor, commenting on the words of the deputy, noted that the regulator may limit access to Ukrainian gambling based on the corresponding court decision, but so far it has not been received.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a first-person shooter created by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The game was announced in 2010, but its release was repeatedly postponed, including due to the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. In 2022, Roskomnadzor blocked the STALKER 2 website because it published an appeal from developers condemning the special operation.
