The chain of construction stores “OBI Russia” began to place goods on the Ozone market. The company plans to offer approximately 26 thousand products, including repair items, tools, Christmas trees and other seasonal items. In the first stage, only part of the product range will be on sale, but in the future approximately 90% of the products will be available, including major products. Orders are expected to be delivered by OBI couriers directly from the company’s warehouses in the cities where its hypermarkets are located. In the future, the partners plan to improve the service by adding express delivery and delivery to Ozon order pickup points.

Despite branding issues, the products will be sold under the OBI brand. Last year, German OBI GmbH requested that the use of its brand be banned in Russia, but the company now continues its activities under the name “OBI Russia”. Since November last year, the company’s products have also been offered for sale on the Yandex Market platform. The company has been operating in Russia since 2003 and currently has 26 hypermarkets in 12 cities across the country; 15 of them are in Moscow and St. It is located in St. Petersburg.

Representatives of the ozone market note that the demand for household goods and repairs is increasing. This year, the demand for DIY (do-it-yourself) products has doubled compared to last year. In contrast, OBI Russia is counting on high sales throughout the season. The company expects increased interest in snow removal products, Christmas trees and New Year’s decorations, especially due to the approaching winter season.
