It is assumed that equipment without domestic printed circuit boards will not be included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and will not be recognized as Russian, the newspaper writes. Technotech, Rezonit, Printed Circuit Board Consortium and others plan to submit corresponding proposals to the ministry.

The market demand for printed circuit boards is 426 million square meters. dm, the companies told the publication. If all announced projects to expand or introduce new production capacities for printed circuit boards are implemented, by 2028 this market will triple, Rezonit CEO Andrei Kucheryavy told Kommersant. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce did not respond to the newspaper’s request.

Government Decree No. 719 allows electronics manufacturers to be awarded points for Russian components, but the use of domestic printed circuit boards is not necessary.

The opinions of businessmen surveyed by Kommersant were divided. Some believe that the mandatory use of Russian printed circuit boards will help accelerate production development, while others fear that the initiative will lead to a reduction in finished products.

Currently, companies “cannot produce the necessary amount of products for all domestic equipment,” says a journalistic source in the computer equipment market. According to the interlocutor, if the initiative is accepted, the number of equipment in Russia will decrease, since manufacturers will depend on one or two component suppliers, and Chinese companies will come to fill the “vacant place.”
