The Moscow Department of Transport has launched the first paid charging stations for electric vehicles.
There are 39 such chargers installed in the city. There is a preferential tariff for everyone – 20 rubles per 1 kWh. According to the Department of Transport, charging an electric vehicle will cost 30% less than refueling a car with an internal combustion engine, if calculated per 1 km of travel.
Old city charging stations include power plants. In December 2024, 290 chargers installed as part of the Moscow Energy project are in use in Moscow.

By 2030, the Department of Transport plans to connect up to 30 thousand chargers in the city. This is projected to increase the number of electric vehicles to 320 thousand, which is about 7% of the total number of cars in Moscow.
