Access to the “Protection of loved ones” service is free. T-Bank clarified that the new product is aimed at older people, who often become victims of scammers. Additionally, the service will help parents protect children who may be involved in illegal activities.
According to the statement, the trustees will only review transactions that the bank considers potentially risky. For example, these could be transfers to previously unused data, obtaining a loan, and early closing of deposits. Scammers often try to impose these types of operations on the victim.
If the bank suspects fraud, a notification or SMS message containing information about the transaction will be sent to the authorized representative. If not confirmed within 24 hours, the transaction will be rejected. The client can also set limits for transfers, the excess of which will be automatically sent for verification.
According to Renaissance Insurance, more than 50% of Russians have encountered telephone scammers. The most vulnerable age group was people aged 24 to 35, in which one in two people fell victim to scammers. In the age group of 55 to 60 years there are fewer such cases: only 27%.
