Animes like “Naruto”, “One Piece”, “Bleach” and others were published on jut.su. The site’s press service on Telegram confirmed the blocking and recommended users “use a VPN for a while.”
At the same time, judging by data from the Downdetector service, users cannot access other popular anime libraries; Access problems are observed in Animedia Online, AnimeGO and YummyAnime.
The YummyAnime administration clarified on its Telegram channel that there was no official warning letter from Roskomnadzor. YummyAnime noted that they had already sent a letter asking for clarification of the reason, adding that “apparently RKN, like last time, will not give an answer to this and will refer it to the supplier.”
“Of the possible reasons, the most likely is that this is again an anime with LGBT* propaganda. Such animes were completely blocked on the site, but this did not stop Roskomnadzor from blocking the sites. “Some media outlets have wrongly suggested that the sites were informed about this and could have done something, but no, they couldn’t,” the post reads.
The anime portal AnimeGO also announced the blocking of the domain and the move to a new site.
Previously, the department included several book sites in the register of banned pages, including babook.org, freedomletters.org, ruslania.com, bookamaro.com, goodreads.com. Then the RKN referred to the presence of “falsifications about the SVO” and “discrediting the actions of the government bodies of the Russian Federation and the armed forces of the Russian Federation.”
