Disable Google Assistant on your mobile phone
1. Open the app Google;
2. Click on your profile photo in the right corner of the screen;
3. Access the “Settings” menu;
4. Find “Google Assistant” in settings;
5. Find “General”;
6. Disable the “Google Assistant” option;
7. Confirm with “Deactivate”.
However, simply disabling the Google Assistant button does not completely disable its existence. The virtual assistant remains “active” through shortcuts, usually accessed via physical or digital keys on the mobile phone. You can follow the steps below to disable the shortcut.
Disable Google Assistant shortcut
Disabling the shortcut for Google’s virtual assistant is quite simple. To do this simply:
1. Open the “Settings” app,
2. Tap “Apps & notifications”,
3. Click “Advanced”;
4. And access the “Default Applications” tab.
5. Select “Voice assistance and input”
6. Then click on “Utility application”. In this section, simply select “None” or any other alternative you prefer.
Extra tip: Disable the “Google” app
For users who want a “cleaner” experience or need more free space on their devices, this option is available: Uninstall all updates from the “Google” app and then disable it.
You can perform the operation in the “Settings” section.
1. Access the “Apps & notifications” tab and go to “Google”.
2. Tap the “three dots” icon in the top right corner and select “Uninstall updates”. With the change, the application will be restored to its original factory version and free up space in the device’s memory;
3. Tap “Deactivate” to complete the process.
It is useful to remember this Disabling the “Google” application may affect the full operation of other applications warned by the system. In case of problems, repeat the steps in this tutorial and undo the changes made.
