Apple could release a Mac with support for SIM cards and cellular connectivity for the first time in 2026, Bloomberg reports.

The company is considering this possibility, and the connection will include Apple’s own 5G modem, which has been in development for more than five years.

It is currently reserved for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

The publication does not specify which Mac may receive cellular support, but most likely it will be a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. For desktop Macs, cellular connectivity is not a priority; laptops with such an increased advantage are not protected from Wi-Fi in public places.

Apple may also add cellular connectivity to a future version of Vision Pro. However, you shouldn’t expect this update anytime soon. [Bloomberg]
