The former Samsung factory in Kaluga has started assembling servers for the Russian company Graviton. The company is now leased by distributor VVP Group, which also leases space to other manufacturers. Previously, the plant was engaged in the production of Samsung TVs and monitors, which were supplied not only to Russia, but also to the CIS countries and neighboring countries. After the Korean company withdrew from the Russian market in 2022, production was stopped, but now the facilities are slowly returning to operation.

According to Graviton, up to 20 thousand servers are produced annually on its sites, including rental ones, and it is planned to produce 60 thousand new products such as printed circuit boards and monitors by 2025. As part of the partnership with OpenYard in the Ryazan region, the company is increasing the production of server equipment. The plant in Kaluga also produces TVs of the Hi and Carrera brands, making it an important assembly point for Russian technology.

Experts believe that the potential of the Kaluga plant is huge: it can produce up to half a million devices per year. Graviton’s main customers are critical structures: energy, transportation, banks and government agencies. Olga Kvashenkina, General Director of SNDGroup, noted that such facilities help to quickly adapt production to the domestic market, especially in an environment where there is a shortage of foreign components.
