The deputy stated that she had prepared a corresponding bill together with the Internet Development Institute (IRI). In his opinion, it is necessary to control the content of video games, since they are “a very powerful weapon of influence” on children.

Lantratova maintains that Western countries, through games, “introduce hateful attitudes toward Russia,” promote LGBT* ideology, romanticize violence and the rejection of traditional values.

The deputy chairman of the education commission also called for checking that common toys comply with laws on the protection of children from harmful information and for introducing quotas in children’s stores so that at least 50% of the assortment is toys. domestic.

State Duma Chairman Viacheslav Volodin called for the relevant committees of the State Duma and control and supervisory authorities to participate in the examination of the issues raised by Lantratova. “This will not be allowed in any country that wants to be independent and have a future. According to Kommersant, in November the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Russian developers discussed the introduction of game rental certificates. According to one of the participants in the meeting, the idea is considered a tool to limit the access of international companies to the Russian market. Lantratova then supported the initiative and pointed out that in the gaming sector there is a huge national market that is not regulated in any way.
