Rospatent received two applications for registration of the Viola Academy trademark from Basalt SPO LLC, the developer of the domestic Viola operating system for workstations and servers. Telesputnik drew attention to this.

The applications were registered on December 5 and information about them was published the next day. The list of goods and services that Basalt SPO wants to protect with exclusive rights includes educational services, training software, software development and more.
“Alt Academy” brings together all areas of work of “Basalt SPO”, which are related to training and cooperation with educational organizations, as follows from the information on the project website.
Basalt SPO was registered in 2015 in Moscow. The general director of the company is Sergey Trandin, its main activity is software development. In 2023, the organization’s revenue amounted to 1.3 billion rubles (compared to 893 million rubles in 2022), net profit – 638 million rubles.
The company positions Viola OS as an integrated system with a Russian interface for workstations and servers, which is used to create a comprehensive IT infrastructure as part of import substitution.
