In the markets you can buy still grape wines, as well as sparkling and fortified wines (Port and Madeira). Before reserving a product, the user must confirm that they are over 18 years of age.
To receive your order at the selected delivery point, you will need a passport or other document confirming your age. The order will be stored for four days from the delivery date, payment will be made upon receipt. The service is available in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
The Wildberries press service explained that the market acts as “an online showcase that directly connects the seller with the buyer.” They added that the company plans to cooperate with other chain stores.
In April last year, a bill on the remote sale of wine through the Russian Post was submitted to the State Duma. According to the idea of the Russian Government, which proposed the document, the new practice was supposed to “promote the development of Russian winemaking and change the balance on the market of domestic products”, but already in June of the same year, the lower house of the Parliament withdrew the bill from consideration.
