Cyber attacks are increasingly targeting the gambling and gaming industry, leaving the financial sector as the most vulnerable sector to attacks. Cloudflare also noted an increase in malicious traffic: 6.5% of global traffic was flagged as malicious, although the increase was modest.
When it comes to popular online services, Google remains the leading platform, followed by (a banned social network) and Apple. WhatsApp entered the top 10 worldwide. While OpenAI is pioneering the field of generative AI, new services such as Codeium and Claude are also gaining traction.
Additionally, globally, Google is sending the most traffic to Cloudflare clients, with more than 88% share in 2024. Yandex, Baidu, Bing and DuckDuckGo completed the top five.
Cloudflare’s report uses data from Radar, a tool that collects and anonymizes data from more than 330 cities around the world.
