I often visit the center of Moscow, and I already know for sure: in several locations my iPhone will definitely send me that my AirPods (or Macbook) are no longer with me. Although both of them lie quietly in a backpack over your shoulders.

But okay, I went through this location and forgot. But if someone works in an ordinary “lost” place, then such a person has to see the reaction to the expectation of lost devices many times a day, recommendations for the Latitude application.

This occurs due to a GPS malfunction. There may be several reasons – from too thick walls with an abundance of reinforcement inside them, to specialized jammers, due to a government facility located somewhere nearby.

But we, the owners of Apple equipment, should not suffer because of this. Now think about how to fix a crazy “locator” so that it doesn’t harass you with false reports of missing items and drain your battery.

Disable notifications about waiting for a “forgotten” device

If notifications from Latitude start to arrive only when you arrive at work or at your favorite cafe, then do the following on your iPhone:

1. Launch Find My on your iPhone

2. Go to the tab “Devices” and select the device that always supports

3. Go to the section “Notify when abandoned»

▪️ If the device is constantly in one place, at home or at work, disable this feature completely.

▪️ If notifications are provided in a specific location, please include that location in the exception.

To add a location to an exception, click “New Geolocation” and use your finger to set the radius of the safe zone, provided that Latitude does not send false notifications.

That’s all, from now on you will have much fewer false codes, which means you won’t interfere with trifles at your workplace or somewhere else. At the same time, the iPhone works longer without recharging. It’s a small thing, but nice.

Don’t lose your gadgets in the New Year’s rush.
