An iPhones.ru source at Apple, on condition of anonymity, said that since December 2024, Apple has decided to limit the presence of branded services in Russia. This is the first change in the company’s operating conditions in the Russian Federation since spring 2022.
What’s changing:
▪ on Apple TV+, some new series and series will no longer be released in Russian regions of Apple Accounts. This applies not only to content, some of it is still planned for release in the Russian Federation.
▪ In the future, it is planned to upload only trailers of new content to Apple TV+, but not the content itself.
▪ Limited editions of new workouts for the Russian Federation will be released in Apple Fitness+. Previously, filling the “Love for the World” service, performing workout music in which it was used, is not available in Apple Music for Russia.
Other changes are possible. All the details of this decision are not yet fully known. The iPhones.ru source believes, but cannot guarantee, that the ability to replenish the balance of an Apple Account (Apple ID) for Russia will not be disabled, just as the purchase of applications and subscriptions will not be prohibited.
The first visible consequences of Apple’s decision can be seen today: information about the film has been removed from availability in the Apple TV+ app today Gorge (Gorge), there will be no release in the Russian Federation.
