LTA startup with investment from Google co-founder Sergey Brin assembled the first aircraft

The American startup LTA showed for the first time an aircraft of its own design, reports Bloomberg. The presentation of the aircraft is also published on the LTA website.

The aircraft, 120 meters long, is designed to transport cargo and passengers. Its load capacity is 28 tons. The plane is equipped with electric propellers, nacelles for pilots and passengers. The aircraft can cover about 3,700 km in one flight.

LTA plans to build another aircraft with a length of 185 meters and a cargo capacity of up to 200 tons, several times more than a Boeing 747 aircraft, the agency said.

Bloomberg noted that it is the first rigid airship of this magnitude built since the 1930s.

LTA has operated in secrecy since its founding in 2016 at the behest of Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google and one of the project’s investors. The amount of Brin’s investment in the development of the aircraft was not disclosed, but is estimated by LTA employees at $250 million.
