According to him, the head of the Federal Customs Service, Valeri Pikalev, met with the general director of the Association of Enterprises of the Furniture and Wood Industry of Russia (AMDPR), Timur Irtuganov, and other representatives of the furniture industry. furniture. There, Pikalev said the service had decided to classify accessories as “furniture guides”, to which zero duty is applied.
The position of the Federal Customs Service “has been communicated to the customs authorities to guide them in their work,” the service’s message underlines.
In November, AMDPR complained that Vladivostok customs, through which about 90% of furniture fittings from China are imported, reclassified them as bearings, so the tax on the products increased from zero to 55 .65%.
AMDPR warned that this could lead to disruption of hardware supply and then furniture production, noting that 80% of hardware used by Russian furniture manufacturers is produced in China. The association asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to contact the Federal Customs Service to stop the process of requalifying accessories.
The president of the Almaz company, Sergei Zmievsky, in a conversation with Forbes, predicted that the increase in tariffs will lead to an increase in the cost of furniture by 15%.
