According to GraphTech, over 83% of users in Russia who regularly create graphs and flowcharts continue to use Microsoft Visio. Despite the existence of domestic analogues, most companies are in no hurry to replace their regular software due to the high cost of re-equipment and the need to train employees. Statistics show that by the end of November 2024, more than 500 thousand of 600 thousand potential users in Russia were using Visio, and by 2022 this figure is even higher.

Native analogues of Visio exist, including free ones, but they cannot always completely replace Microsoft functionality. Some companies continue to purchase Visio through parallel imports or use pirated versions despite alternatives being available. According to experts, the main reason for this situation is not just habit, but the close integration with the Microsoft ecosystem, which needs to be completely revised when switching to other solutions.

Experts argue that in order to switch to Russian analogues of Visio, companies need to seriously restructure their business processes. Previously, many people used Visio in combination with other Microsoft products; He was creating charts, inserting them into Word, and sending them via Outlook. Even if some companies have licensed versions of the software, they likely won’t receive updates anytime soon.
