“In accordance with the requirement of the Moscow City Prosecutor’s Office, the Moscow Department of Rospotrebnadzor, from December 2 to 17, 2024, carried out inspections of 18 legal entities operating under the Moremania brand. During the inspections, serious violations of the requirements of health legislation were discovered,” the regulator said.

From the message of Rospotrebnadzor it follows that it discovered a violation of the temperature regime for storage of products, storage of semi-finished products without indicating the date of production and expiration date, storage of products with an expired shelf life, unsatisfactory sanitary and technical conditions and maintenance of production facilities and other deficiencies.

During the inspections, protocols on administrative violations were drawn up, followed by decisions in the form of a fine, the department noted.

Following the investigation, Rospotrebnadzor held a meeting attended by the chairman of the coordinating council of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia, Sergei Mironov, the owner of Moremania, Vitaly Kornev, and the heads of all legal entities. Mironov wrote on his Telegram channel that the regulator gave the network one month to eliminate all violations.

The press service of Moremania informed the ReBro by Dmitry Levitsky Telegram channel that during the inspections “gaps” were identified in the control system for plant products. “The Moremania project is a collaborative project and previously the responsibility for meeting all requirements fell on the partner. Now a unified control system will be developed with the participation of Rospotrebnadzor, which will be included as a mandatory condition in the partnership agreement,” the press service said in a statement.

  • In early December, Rospotrebnadzor closed two Moremaniya restaurants in Moscow due to identified violations of health legislation.
  • The reason for the media review was a report from the Telegram Shot channel and the corresponding request from State Duma deputy Anastasia Udaltsova.
  • Later in December, the Babushkinsky District Court suspended the activities of one of the restaurants for 60 days.
