Currently, eight projects have been published on the site, including the Tarantool platform for developing high-load applications, the data visualization system for monitoring StatsHouse, and the VKUI design system.

“The OpenVK initiative promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience among IT industry professionals and aims to support and develop the community of developers, providing them with access to advanced technologies and tools,” said Sergei Lyadzhin, technical director of VK Social Platforms and Average. Content business group.

The company added that links to developments will be periodically updated, and the site itself will be replenished with new products.

A source close to the company told Forbes in mid-November that VK plans to start making its products available to the public. He noted that the cost of creating such projects from scratch can amount to “tens of millions of rubles”, but opening the source code can increase the trust of users and partners in the holding company.
