According to SteamDB’s report, 18,864 games were released on the Steam platform in 2024.
Of these, 14,344 are single-player projects, and independent developers released 8,630 projects.
Among genres, casual games (8,746 releases) and adventures (7,449) led, while action and RPG were released with 7,359 and 3,787 projects, respectively.
6,650 three-dimensional games and 7,693 two-dimensional games were released. There were 2,132 multiplayer projects, 4,164 simulators and 3,868 strategy games. Of these, 3,567 were first-person games and 2,097 were third-person games.
Meanwhile, Valve continues to summarize its own results for the year; It publishes lists of the most profitable games, highlighted by Black Myth: Wukong and STALKER 2, as well as projects with record online figures, including Counter-Strike 2.
The results of user voting for the best games of the year will be announced on December 31.
