The Russian government has banned calls via the Internet to mobile and landline phones.
The measure is aimed at negotiating with telephone scammers, the report said. It does not affect messengers, only calls via IP telephony in a regular number.
The authorities also noted that the innovation “will not have any impact” on ordinary telephone users.
Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Digital Development and Roskomnadzor may ban calls in instant messengers due to scammers. Two channels are being considered: blocking calls only from abroad or a complete ban on calls through instant messengers. [Правительство России]
