“In two and a half years, RuStore has surpassed the American App Store in terms of audience, the number of store installations has reached 80 million devices,” TASS quotes the minister.
Shadayev said that in the RuStore store there are 50 thousand applications available, of which about 30% are foreign “from China, Japan, the CIS countries and beyond.”
The head of the Ministry of Digital Development also added that in 2024, Chinese developers increased investments fivefold to promote their applications on RuStore – up to 60 million rubles.
According to Shadayev, the advantage of RuStore over foreign ones is that in the Russian store you can download applications from state services, national banks and “thousands of other Russian applications that are currently not available in foreign analogous stores.”
RuStore is a Russian mobile application store for Android, which VK is developing with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development. The beta version of the market was launched in May 2022 and the full launch of the platform took place in February 2023.
At the same time, RuStore became available to foreign developers and devices based on the Android operating system began to have the Russian app store preinstalled.
