Microsoft suspended Ozon employees’ access to its key services as it suspected the marketplace was acquiring licenses for Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and other products in a “workaround.”
Ozon representatives told RIA Novosti that the situation had stabilized, access to the main programs had been restored and the incident “did not have a significant impact”.
The company says it only uses genuine Microsoft licenses, and the information about “workaround” purchases is “completely false.”
The main problem, according to the agency’s interlocutors, was access to mail. Now “the data is in order, the mail service is available.”
RBC, however, refers to its source, who assures that at the time of the suspension of access, the staff switched to free analogues to communicate on labor issues: Telegram, Zoom and Google Meet, and directly in the mail “everything is broken”. and it can’t be fixed, only transfer to local servers, which is what the developers are currently busy with.”
At the same time, Ozon emphasizes that the failure did not affect the client’s key services: this data was already stored on local servers, and the work used its own software developed by an internal team, so warehouse systems, vendors, partners and customer service worked smoothly.
