In the next stage, flight tests will be carried out on Berkut-VR satellites with these terminals. The launch of the first two Berkut-VR satellites, as well as the experimental radar satellite Berkut-RSA, is planned for 2026-2027.

In the future, Roscosmos plans to expand the Berkut-VR constellation to 30 satellites and the Berkut-RSA constellation to 24 satellites.

“Berkut-VR” is a new space system developed within the framework of the federal “Sphere” project in Russia. It is designed for optical-electronic observation and remote sensing of the Earth.
