Currently, a small batch of chip production with 2nm technology has started at the company’s factory in Hsinchu, Taiwan. By the end of 2026, the monthly productivity of this facility is planned to be between 12 and 13 thousand chips. It is expected that the capacity will increase to 5 thousand chips per month in 2025, and this figure is expected to reach 60 thousand chips per month in two TSMC factories in 2026.

The main customer of the first chips with the new technology is expected to be Apple. Already in the iPhone 18, a new A20 processor produced using 2nm process technology may appear. The WMCM technology to be used in this chip includes the use of multi-chip modules that will increase performance and power saving. In addition to Apple, other technology giants such as MediaTek, Qualcomm, Intel, NVIDIA, AMD and Broadcom also plan to use new chips in their products.
